The countdown from 10 to 1 is such a clever way to teach numbers, and the illustrations make each page feel like a little journey around the planet. My toddler loves pointing at the animals, and the sturdy pages have held up to plenty of chewing and page-flipping.
My 18-month-old insists on this one every night, and I love that it counts down from 10 to 1 instead of the usual up-from-one. The illustrations of the planet are gorgeous enough that I don't even mind reading it four times in a row.
The illustrations are genuinely lovely and my toddler does enjoy pointing at the animals, but the counting from 10 down to 1 feels a bit abstract for her right now. It's a sturdy board book that will last, just not one we reach for every day.
