The pages actually change color right before her eyes when they hit the water, and she giggles every single time it happens. It’s sturdy enough to survive her enthusiastic grabbing, and the boat illustrations are charming enough that I don’t mind reading it a hundred times.

My 18-month-old loses it every bath now, and honestly the color-changing thing never gets old for me either. Watching the boats and their flags appear as soon as the pages get wet is genuinely a little magic trick.

The illustrations are cute and my 18-month-old loves watching the colors appear when the book gets wet. It dries quickly, though the color change isn't as vibrant as I'd hoped.
