Keep your Unicorn Dreams magnetic puzzles organized and damage-free with these simple storage steps, from sorting pieces to choosing the right container.
Quick answer
Store your Unicorn Dreams magnetic puzzles in a flat, dry place with pieces kept in a resealable bag or the original box to prevent loss and bending.
Why magnetic puzzles need special storage
Unlike traditional puzzles, magnetic puzzles have a flexible magnetic backing that can attract dust and metal debris. Keeping them in a clean, dry container prevents the magnetic surface from picking up unwanted particles that could affect how pieces snap together.
The Unicorn Dreams set features whimsical artwork by Sarah Ward. The magnetic construction means pieces stay put during play, but they also need a storage method that prevents them from sticking to each other or to metal objects nearby.
Steps to store Unicorn Dreams magnetic puzzles
- Sort and count pieces: After play, separate the puzzle pieces and count them to ensure none are missing. This also helps you notice if any pieces are bent or damaged. Counting pieces now saves time later when you want to assemble the puzzle again.
- Place pieces in a resealable bag: Slide all pieces into a clear, resealable plastic bag. This keeps them together and prevents them from sticking to other magnetic surfaces. Avoid using metal containers. A clear bag lets you see the pieces without opening it, making it easy to identify the puzzle.
- Store flat in the original box or a sturdy container: Put the bagged pieces back into the original box or a flat, rigid container. Store it horizontally to avoid bending the pieces. Keep it away from heat and moisture. Flat storage prevents warping and keeps the magnetic backing intact.
